Diary of a bad writer – Week 35

Diary of a bad writer banner

June 4th, 6pm – Just finished a long commute home from work. Can’t write at the moment. I’m tired and ready for bed now. Sometimes life events take me out of my creative mood. When this happens, I think about why I wanted to write in the first place:

  • To speak to an audience while taking a burden off my chest *
  • To build relationships around the world
  • To help readers by offering encouragement
  • To Entertain – No one has my style of humor
  • Leave a mark on the world by me – When I’m gone, someone will say “Darnell wrote that*”

When Down, Always:

Y I Started

* my latest story drops on friday… 😁

    Indeed.i can relate.
Years ago, I was in a rut. I was not writing ANYTHING because of my life being a boring, yet exhausting routine. It deflated me. After a while, I realized that writing was the only way out of it. And here I am.

You forgot one – To have a sign on your office door that reads “Author – Genius At Work” πŸ˜‰
You’re right though, sometimes remembering why we wanted to do something in the first place, the purpose and how we want it to make us feel, can help reignite that spark and keep us going.
I hope you have a good weekend, Darnell! x

It’s obvious you’re a born writer with a great desire to communicate. It’s good that you realize we all have down times, but that good times are always ahead.

A good reminder to look at why we started in the first place. I need to do just that.

Those are excellent reasons for keeping on. Take a break and rejuvenate though!
