Friday, July 26th 8:00am to Sunday, July 28th 10:00pm – I recognize reading ( or listening ) to books is part of the learning process of becoming a better writer. So I took the whole weekend to do some Kindle reading and listening to audiobooks. Different POVs, Different Descriptions, Different Plots, from my own. Oh, so relaxing and educational! Several good books, ocean sounds, and some chardonnay. Cheers!
“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
–Stephen King
Ocean sounds! That might have to be what I seek this weekend!

I recently started getting into audio dramas. I find that they really get my creative juices running.

I have one that’s tame and somewhat interactive:

I quite thoroughly enjoyed your story! I loved the inclusion of audio. Unfortunately, I’m unable to like the post. Wonder why? Nonetheless, great job!

Good pick! She has movie star beauty. I picked the girl with freckles and butterfly. She has a look that says I am average, but she is far from that. Thanks for reading and commenting.

I remember that quote in Stephen King’s On Writing memoir, have you read it? Reading different books can really open your mind, broaden your horizons & spark creativity. Enjoy! xx

I’ve found that taking time off to read is often exactly what I need. My reading comes in spurts. Lately I’ve been reading more and really enjoying it. I have a kindle, but I still prefer paper.

I like paper too, but my Kindle App is always with me so I have no excuse not to read.🙂

Rocking and rolling,Darnell…I like reading series just to watch the evolution of the writer,to see how much they love their characters and if they’ll challenge themselves by not playing it safe.

I love the detective series Harry Bosch, written by author Michael Connelly. The character changes from ups and downs and it’s interesting to see him handle life’s problems in the series. Amazon has a TV series based on him also. The actor Titus Welliver plays Bosch well.

I become a better writer reading other work. That’s a good way to grow. Thanks for the comment Daniel. 👍
