Diary of a bad writer – Week 54

Diary of a bad writer banner

Sunday, October 13th, 1:00pm –  Nanowrimo starts November 1st through November 30th. I’ve decided to test the waters and unofficially give it a try. If I plot out a book now, it will be easy…and hard.

Just Write

The Ultimate Guide For Nanowrimo may help me plot along the way.

I’ve thought about unofficially trying it out this year, too… but I’m super nervous about it! Good luck, Darnell!!

Good luck! I’ve tried a few times, never managed to meet the 50k word count but still got more writing done than I would have done had I not attempted it, so I think it’s always worth having a go. Have fun with it!

Thank you Ellie. This will be the first time trying. Finish or not, the results should be worth the effort.

I’ve never done Nanowrimo but I know it’s quite popular with bloggers, and it does seem like an interesting way to get the writing flowing. Do you think you’ll be posting your writing for the challenge on your blog? Do you have any challenges you’ll set yourself with it, like using certain themes or doing a set amount each day/week? xx

My goal is to challenge myself to write 1500 words a day. Nano writing is intense. You don’t correct typos or dialogue so I won’t share the work until it is completed, and I can make sense of it. When completed, it will inspire a lot of posts about the process. Thank you for asking Caz.

1,500 a day? Wow, that is intense! Better get flexing those hand muscles and warming up ready for the insane typing you’ll be doing 😉 I don’t think I could write without going back and making corrections. The perfectionist in me would hate that! Looking forward to hearing how you get on though – enjoy the process! xx

I think I will post something about how I plan to do this, and why. The key is you have to have a plan.

You’ve inspired me to consider this challenge. I really need to crank out a sequel to one of my books. That might be my project for Nanowrimo.

Wonderful idea! I need discipline completing something other than a short story. It will do us both good, no matter what.
