Turbulence

Dark clouds blocked the sun as the atmosphere mixed with cold and hot temperatures. Tension rose in an eerie foreboding stillness.

“Where are you going?” his tone demanding an answer. She dressed in her most enticing and alluring attire.

“You hear me speaking to you. Answer me now!” he bellowed, balling his fists in the air, as gust’s of high winds felled strong trees.

“I’m going out,” she said, chin up and back turned. “As you do so many a night. Do you know how that affects me?” she asked, applying lipstick to pouted lips.

“I forbid you to go anywhere!” he yelled, stomping his feet as black clouds continued to darken the sky and lightning cracked, burning the ground.

She finished applying her makeup then put on her most precious jewelry. She smiled and hummed a tune as she looked at him through her vanity mirror.

“You defy me?” His breath mixed with the air, making it thick and unstable. Heavy rain and hailstones fell from the sky exploding on the ground into fine ice crystals.
She stood up and walked towards the door.

“I can only blame myself. After all, it was I who at one time responded to your roaming eye too Zeus.”

“Hera, wait. I’m coming with you.” He smiled at her as the sun came out from the clouds and the storm stopped as fast as it started.

He held her hand on the way out while he hoped no one heard the fight between Zeus the God of Weather, and Hera his Queen.

This is so crazy to say, but before I even got to the part about Zeus and Hera, this had reminded me of Greek mythology! But I was actually thinking of Hades and Persephone, since she is only allowed the leave the Underworld at certain times. I was shocked to see it was Zeus and Hera! But in many stories, Zeus is told as arrogant and pompous, so I can certainly see him being a man with a wandering eye. Loved this!!

You are an advid book reader. It would be hard to keep someone as sharp as you from guessing that story was built on Greek mythology.😉 I am happy you liked it anyway Brittany 🤗

Seems no one is free from an argument in their matrimony every once in a while…
