Diary of a bad writer – Week 31

Diary of a bad writer banner

May 7th, 8:00pm – Working on a story. My protagonist turns killer when his name is mispronounced. Yep. That’s different. Thinking what else I can do with this character.

I just realized, this is my world. I can write anything…

Oh boy….this should be good. Lord knows I have mangled a few names in my lifetime.

If a mispronounced name is all it takes I’d have killed several people by now 😉
It’s so freeing to think you have full control over your protagonist, who he is, what he does, where the story goes… Go wild!

“I can write anything!” This is such a relieving thought sometimes.

This sounds great, is he going to end up a serial killer? Mild mannered and easy going, until he hears that same mistake again, then he starts to twitch…

He’s a tattoo artist that loses it if you say his name incorrectly, or if you abbreviate it. Have no worry, unless…😵

Hmm a tattooist who loses his temper easily, that’s a situation fraught with trouble!

Like the twitching part. If I use it you get a mention 😉

LOL! That’s entirely plausible behavior on the part of your protagonist! I love my French surname, but I’m fed up with the nearly sixty years of mispronunciation I’ve had to put up with! Go with it! 😀

Have the best time. That’s the most unique part about writing.

That’s why writing is such fun. You can do anything you like; so can your characters. What if they came alive though?? 😉
