I understand your worries. Sometimes we think that if we are not living off book sales, we are not doing it right. I know I do, sometimes. But you know what? Our writing DOES matter. When we share it with others, it makes them feel all sorts of emotions and potentially gets stuck in their heads for a moment. We might not know, but our writing might have an indirect impact on their lives – they use our writing to make certain decisions. And most of all, it matters to US. Don’t you feel … worse when you don’t write at all for a while? I know I do.

Very true. I’ve been inspired by your work and others. I feel guilty when not working on something. We have to believe that it does matter to ourselves to accomplish anything.
