We all need to have conditions that are conducive to writing. They might not be ideal but they have to be such that writing comes easily to us.

I prefer an environment free from distraction of people talking. Be it real people or on tv. That just distracts me so much that I cannot form a thought to put in writing. I like to be by myself and with some soft music playing in the background when I write.

Good writing is much more than our environment and surroundings. Good writing is basically a good idea. And a good idea can come to us at anytime. The trick is to write it down so…

    I have come up with a routine which approximates perfect conditions which is to have music playlist and a cup of coffee which I’ll sip from just go with it from there… Sometimes nothing gets written but I’m OK with that

    I write all day for work, so there are many days I simply don’t have it in me to write another word. When I write, I need silence or white noise.

    I’ve learned that a while back – there will never be the perfect time to write (or they are too short and far between). Just sit and write!
